Coal Yard Monitoring
Coal yards are always uncovered large storage of coal pellets, exposing them
to extreme weather
conditions like sun, wind and rain.
Coal Yard Monitoring
Coal yards are generally found at power plants, industrial facilities, distribution channels from where the coal is transferred for the energy supply of manufacturing processes.

Thermal Camera for Early Fire Detection in Coal Yard/ Bunker
Many industries are using coal as their primary source of fuel for multiple industrial operations like igniting furnaces, boilers or any other heating equipment. These industries store coal in large quantities at coal yards and coal bunkers.
Coal yards are generally found at power plants, industrial facilities, distribution channels from where the coal is transferred for the energy supply of manufacturing processes.
These yards are typically large outdoor areas equipped with storage bins, conveyor belts and loading equipment such as trains and trucks for the transportation of coal.
SparkVIEW
Pyrosens DCTM (Dual Camera Thermal Monitoring) System which comes with 360° pan and 125° tilt mechanism for complete monitoring, integrated with InfraVIEW software is the most availing solution for Early Fire Detection.
Fire Accidents in Coal Yards
A fire accident in coal yards can be quite serious due to the combustible nature of coal. The major factors for the fire mishappening are spontaneous combustion, self-ignition sources, hot weather conditions, poor storage conditions etc.
Coal yards are always uncovered large storage of coal pellets, exposing them to extreme weather conditions like sun, wind and rain. These conditions can produce changes to the product that can results Fire Accidents in Coal Yards in unusual gases and liquids emissions from the coal piles.
To minimize the risk of fire accidents, it is very essential to ensure proper preventive measures such as regular monitoring of temperature and moisture level in coal piles, proper ventilation, and implementation of fire detection systems are crucial. Additionally, proper personnel training and maintaining proper storage practices can help mitigate the risk of fire accidents.
Using Thermal cameras for early fire detection in coal yards can be a highly effective method as they have the ability to detect abnormal heat signatures. These can be a valuable tool for providing continuous thermal monitoring capabilities that enhances fire prevention efforts and overall safety and operational efficiency in industries.

Pyrosens Solutions
Pyrosens Coal Yard Monitoring System with ThermCAM-series integrated with InfraVIEW software is the most availing solution for Early Fire Detection. It provides a precise and reliable temperature measurement solution to enhance plant and personnel safety as it provides real-time continuous thermal monitoring as well as a large panel area for temperature data of the surface of the piles.
Pyrosens also offers a DCTM (Dual Camera Thermal Monitoring) System which comes with 360° pan and 125° tilt mechanism for complete monitoring along with visual camera integration and manual or via software PTZ controls for better view of complete yard.
ThermCAM-Series thermal cameras are a noncontact temperature measuring instrument that can measure the temperature from -20°C to 120°C/100°C to 1000°C (other temperature ranges are also available).
As the particular area of the coal pile gets heated, there will be a rise in the temperature and the thermal camera can detect the hot-spot and can also generate the alarm. This will give a clear indication of early fire. To acquire more precise information and temperature of a particular region, user can create different types of Region Of Interest various shapes and sizes for further analysis and reports. These alert signals can also be received over SMS and E-mail as required by the user.

Software Configuration
InfraVIEW is a windows-based software which is particularly dedicated for industrial thermal imaging applications. The InfraVIEW software provides easy and quick framework for the documentation of the recorded raw data which has been continuously captured through thermal camera. InfraVIEW software provides high-speed real time data acquisition through which one can easily record, view, analyse and store the captured thermal videos/ images as well as the temperature data. It also allows captured temperature data to be integrated to I/O modules or can be connected to PLC via OPC/UA server.

Salient Features of InfraVIEW Software
- Real-time display of thermal images.
- Includes 9 different color palates, according to user application.
- Multiple types of ROI including point, line, and area with min./max./avg. temperature display.
- Histogram and trend chart of ROI can be generated for data analysis.
- Temperature display on mouse hover.
- Alarm generation for entire or ROI based on minimum, maximum or average temperature.
- Export options in CSV format, image saving etc.
